Levanzo, the smallest and wildest island in the Egadi archipelago, is a maze of beautiful rocky and steep coves on a crystal sea. Its iridescent coastlines render it an island made for those who love nature and silence, according to the rhythms dictated by the sea.
The Cala Dogana inlet is home to the only inhabited town of the island, from which an easy pathway leads to the coves of the southern coast until reaching Faraglione.
Worth a visit is Cala Minnola, rich in pines typical of the Mediterranean bush, and the Grotta del Genovese, excavated by prehistoric man along the side of a high cliff, still preserving graffiti and rock paintings. In fact, engravings and paintings dating back to late Stone Age and Neolithic times have been discovered.
Follow the signs to the port.
Grotta del Genovese
The cave is an important testimony to the settlement of primitive man on the island. Inside, it is possible to admire graffiti and rock paintings depicting animals and ritual dances.
